Ben Marden Photography is a unique and refreshingly different boutique photographic studio. Ben is based on the beautiful NSW Far South Coast near Bega.
He Leads a simple and unpretentious lifestyle on his historic farm “Waterloo”, with solar power, tank water, no TV and a 100 hundred year old house in desperate need of restoration. The actual studio is a small old weatherboard shearing shed.
Specialising in Weddings and Portraits Ben believes in providing an increasingly rare level of genuine service and commitment to quality, using the best professional equipment, materials, techniques and processing available. As a Fully Accredited Member of the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography) the highest level of professional conduct and ethics is guaranteed.
Ben’s skill and creativity as a wedding photographer and album designer saw him being awarded:
2006 ACT AIPP Wedding Photographer of the Year
2006 ACT AIPP Wedding Album of the Year
“The best photo of the day is often taken with out you even knowing it. I like to blend in with the festivities and work as discreetly as possible. Obviously there is some direction to place the couple with the best background or in the best light, but I just allow them to be themselves. We still do the family group shots and formal portraits, but basically I like to let the wedding flow and be ready for those amazing little moments”
Highly in demand, photographing over 40 weddings a year (typically over the 32 weeks between September to April) throughout South East Australia and beyond, it is hard to understand where Ben gets his energy from.
“I absolutely love what I do and my energy comes from my clients. By being honest about who I am, what we do and who I work best with, we attract the most amazing yet like minded couples. Our clients are typically down to earth, deeply in love and more than anything want a happy and relaxed wedding day and of course amazing photos. I just get swept up in the atmosphere and emotion of their day and we all have so much fun capturing this!”
